Certificate Program in Gifted Education

Courses in the program provide participants with cutting-edge professional preparedness in accordance with NCATE and the National Association for Gifted Children standards for gifted education. Credits earned in the program fulfill the educational requirements necessary to apply for a Florida teaching certificate endorsement in gifted education. In addition, these credits can be applied toward the master’s degree program in Teacher Leadership. Applicants must have a valid teaching certificate or graduate degree. Training provided by local school districts does not qualify for course credit within the program. Program courses: Understanding the Gifted/Talented Student; Program Planning and Methodology for Gifted/Talented Students; Education of Special Populations of Gifted Students; Theory and Development of Creativity; Guidance and Counseling of Gifted/Talented Individuals.
