Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies
The Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (BSIS) is a degree program designed particularly for adult students. Its goal is to allow students maximum flexibility to custom-design a curriculum to their personal and career goals. The program requires the completion of the common core curriculum as set by the Board of Trustees, Institutions of Higher Learning of the State of Mississippi, as well as 36 upper-division hours in the areas chosen for emphasis. The emphasis areas must include 18 hours from two concentrations or 12 hours from three. At least two of the concentrations must be from different academic colleges within the university. To assure breadth of study as well as depth, students also must complete 12 hours of core electives and 32 hours of general electives supporting their concentration areas.
