Wheeling Jesuit University (WJU) educates the whole person- caring for the mind, body and spirit of each student. The heart of a Jesuit education lies in learning to discern God’s will in people's lives, and applying that knowledge to all they are and do. Students will be provided opportunities to hone their written and verbal skills, using  creativity  and  reason, so that they can be confident of success in the world and, more importantly, as capable leaders in service to others.

Student Life
WJU runs like a well oiled machine. New students are taken on the college tour, taken to orientation, and then run through the soul-sucking machine.
For the most part, students are sufficiently crushed within the first few days of their internment here. On the off chance that one survives this process, they are later subjected to intense, soul crushing psychological torment, and treated as medieval serfs, for primarily nostalgic value. On the even rarer occasion that one shows independent thought and commits the crime of finding something funny, they are crucified. This is, of course, in keeping with the historical Catholic background of the school. The mission of Wheeling Jesuit University is to educate our students for life, for leadership, and for others. We seek to produce graduates who contribute intelligently and effectively to the welfare of society because they are competent and virtuous.

The Service for Social Action Center
Our Service for Social Action Center (SSAC) coordinates service and course-based service-learning activities for members of our campus community.  Students will have the opportunity to truly become "men and women for others" through the partnerships of our student clubs, service programs, and academic courses with organizations in Wheeling, Appalachia and across the country.
The SSAC will also offer training and assistance for faculty who want to incorporate a service-learning component in their courses, applying the skills and theories learned in the classroom to "real world" projects.
