Education Specialist in Instructional Technology
This degree allows students to obtain an advanced degree in the rapidly growing field of instructional technology. Valdosta State University's Department of Curriculum, Leadership, and Technology began offering an online Education Specialist Degree in Instructional Technology in Summer 2000. Applications for each cluster are accepted in Spring and Fall. Georgia media specialists, technology coordinators, and other educators and trainers with a Master's degree in any field are invited to apply. The online program offers participants the opportunity to complete all coursework at a distance using the Internet and WebCT. After graduating students: will demonstrate knowledge, skills, and dispositions to plan, organize,coordinate, and supervise instructional technology by applying principles, theo-ries, and research related to project, resource, delivery system, and information management; demonstrate knowledge, skills, and dispositions to evaluate the ad-equacy of instruction and learning by applying principles, theories, and researchrelated to problem analysis, criterion-referenced measurement, formative andsummative evaluation, and long-range planning; demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to use processesand resources for learning by applying principles and theories of media utilization,diffusion, implementation, and policy-making (AECT, Utilization Domain).
