The University of West Georgia has more than 940 faculty and staff members dedicated to helping students to succeed. It enrolls approximately 11,500 students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees each year. Here students enjoy a complete college life experience on the Carrollton campus, including residence hall living, intercollegiate athletics competitions and opportunities to get involved in more than 100 student organizations.

The University of West Georgia provides exceptional academic quality. Its 116 programs of study include 59 at the bachelor’s level, 42 at the master’s and specialist levels, three at the doctoral level and 12 at the certificate level. Online courses are available for both undergraduate and graduate students seeking flexibility in time and location.

The university's Advanced Academy of Georgia is one of only about 12 U.S. programs that allow gifted high-school-age students to earn concurrent high school and college credit while living on campus in a full-time residential program.

The University of West Georgia offers eCore courses that are taught entirely online, except for the occasional proctored exam. eCore offers courses in English, mathematics, science, history, and the social sciences that are designed, developed, taught and supported by faculty and staff from the USG. eCore is not a formal degree program but is a convenient and adaptable option for either getting started in college or for resuming college after a break or pause. The core curriculum primarily consists of courses required during the first two years of college for a given degree.
