The University of Nevada, Las Vegas produces accomplished graduates who are well prepared to enter the work force or to continue their education in graduate and professional programs. UNLV’s faculty, students, and staff earnestly confront the challenges of economic and cultural diversification, urban growth, social justice, and sustainability. The university’s research and educational programs engage both traditional and innovative areas of study and global concerns. UNLV’s distinctive identity and values permeate a unique institution that brings the best of the world to our region and, in turn, produces knowledge to improve the region and world around us.

The Office of Distance Education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, was created in 1996 to develop and deliver educational programs to southern Nevada's fast growing communities using distance education technologies. The main task of the Office is to present learning opportunities that are less limited by time and place than are UNLV courses and programs scheduled on campus. Through our network of distance education professionals, who use the latest in educational technology, students may work toward a college degree, improve their professional standing, or enrich their understanding of the world.

Distance Education at UNLV developed as a result of Nevada's prior commitment to extended education and UNLV's desire to meet the community needs. Until recently, though, most outreach programming was delivered on-site and consisted of ad-hoc courses designed to respond to specific educational needs, generally continuing professional education. After a while an electronic network appeared and degree programs were initiated. At present all of our Distance Education courses use WebCampus and most use streaming video.

Distance Education is a perfect fit for busy students who wish to choose when and where to advance their education. The global perspective of UNLV's Distance Education program serves students not only from the Las Vegas Area but from as far away as Singapore and the Philippines.

Distance Education at UNLV strives to:
- Increase educational access for students unable to attend classes on campus.
- Fully utilize the resources of the university.
- Enhance instruction by integrating technology into the curriculum.

Financial Aid
Obtaining a quality education is a worthwhile investment in your future. However, coming up with the money to cover the costs can be demanding whether your parents are helping you out or you’re paying the bill on your own.

At UNLV, we’ve dedicated resources to help our students pay for college in a variety of ways, including reduced-tuition programs, scholarships, loans, and even a monthly payment plan that allows you to pay your tuition in smaller interest-free payments each month. We want to help take the stress out of paying for college so you can focus on your studies and enjoy your college experience.

I selected the University Of Nevada from among my other admits as the uni is home to a large number of Masters and doctoral degree programs, all accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. The course fit into my background and my area of specialization quite well and I benefitted a lot from it.
