Master of Arts in Mathematics
The Master of Arts in Mathematics prepares students to teach mathematics at the secondary school and junior college levels. Designed to increase the number of mathematics instructors in the Houston area, this program’s reach has spread nationwide, and many graduates utilize the program to take positions in high schools and community colleges.
Students who cannot take time from work can still have the opportunity to earn a master's degree in mathematics and better prepare themselves for advancement in their careers.
This program allows to learn and experience a wide variety of areas in mathematics, such as number theory, geometry, probability, and statistics. The program requires 33 semester hours of course work, with at least 24 semester hours at the 5000 level or above, and students interact and work with world-renowned mathematicians during the course of their studies.
