Temple Baptist Seminary is the Christian graduate school of theology in Chattanooga, Tennessee of Tennessee Temple University. This school was established on January 26, 1948 as Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. But five years later the name was changed after the Southern Baptist Convention founded a seminary by that name.

The main goal of Temple Baptist Seminary is to equip men and women for dynamic leadership in local Bible-believing churches and related field ministries. The Seminary prepares leaders who possess academic excellence beyond the university and Bible college level, and ministerial balance between the intellectual, practical, and spiritual commitment to Christ, His Word, and His service. It maintains a curriculum plan, a standard of character, and a ministry model that unite to accomplish the school’s purpose.

At Temple Baptist Seminary, we have a wide range of programs and degrees that can be attained.   There are several options available to help each student fit his courses into his or her schedule.

The Seminary has matriculated students from almost every state and from many foreign countries. Many graduates have distinguished themselves as pastors, military and civilian chaplains, teachers, educators, missionaries, and evangelists.

Temple Baptist Seminary was established to train and equip both men and women, lay persons and professionals, for the work of the ministry. Thus it seeks students who are spiritually dedicated and are willing to devote themselves to diligent study and preparation for the ministry. Moreover, it admits academically qualified students who are born again and possess a Christian testimony consistent with the philosophy, doctrine, and standards of the Seminary.

The Seminary admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin, sex, age, or handicap to all the rights, privileges, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the Seminary.
