Certificate Program in Instructional Design for Online Learning
The Instructional Design for eLearning Certificate Program introduces the skills needed for building coursework for the web. The program provides information on cutting-edge technology, applications and techniques to enhance insight and knowledge of the instructional design landscape and builds the essential competencies to reflect current theory and practices. Instructional Design for eLearning is designed to build the talent pool of local instructional designers to meet the growing demand for this skill set as more educational content moves online. Instructional Design for eLearning consists of six courses totaling 91 hours of instruction and 9.1 continuing education units (CEUs). See prerequisite requirement under individual course descriptions. This Program helps to: develop core instructional design competencies for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating coursework according to tested principles for online learning; apply instructional design practices and principles within the electronic environment; develop and use strategies to lead and manage instructional challenges in a variety of online educational settings; provide formal training and development that will provide the professional instructional designer with the tools needed to transition from traditional classroom training to eLearning.
