Being one of 109 colleges in the California Community College System, Monterey Peninsula College (MPC) is committed to assisting students in realization of their educational goals and personal potential.
MPC offers programs and courses to students who wish to:
• transfer to a four-year institution and continue their education;
• go straight into the workforce and occupy entry-level positions;
• improve and advance their professional skills in their area of specialization.
The College offers its certificate programs and associate degrees through the following academic divisions: Business & Technology, Creative Arts, Humanities, Life Science, Physical Education, Physical Science, Social Science, and School of Nursing.
Distance education opportunities are available for students in the form of online courses. Moreover, the whole Administration of Justice program is offered through distance education. Thus, students can either pursue a certificate of completion/achievement in Administration of Justice – Law Enforcement or Administration of Justice – Corrections through living room series format. In addition, the MPC general education courses for the Associate of Science in Administration of Justice – Law Enforcement are also offered as distance learning classes and certain specialization courses may be pursued online.
Living Room Series format is designed for the flexibility and convenience of students who have limited access to the MPC campus. These courses are available to all academically-qualified students. While some of the courses are offered online, others may require videos, on-campus meetings, or on-campus laboratories.
MPC is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
