As a Catholic, comprehensive, coeducational institution, Immaculata University serves men and women of all ages through the College of Undergraduate Studies, the College of LifeLong Learning, and the College of Graduate Studies. It was founded originally as Villa Maria College, the first Catholic College for women in the Philadelphia area. In 1929, the name was formally changed to Immaculata College to accommodate government regulations for the naming of the post office.
All students receive education and preparation for positions of leadership and responsibility in their adult and professional lives. Immaculata University is proud of its academic heritage of servicing students for many years. Since 1920, under the guidance of farsighted leaders, the university grew to a major academic university of today servicing over 3500 men and women.
The University provides academic offerings ranging from the associate to doctoral degrees and certificate and pre-professional programs that meet students' needs. Most of the academic courses are delivered in traditional length semesters. Accelerated degree completion programs are also offered. Moreover, the university also offers courses online, web enhanced courses and courses in a traditional classroom setting. Courses are held on the university's main campus, between Malvern and Exton in Pennsylvania, 20 miles west of Philadelphia.
