Master of Science in Criminal Justice

This online program is designed to prepare students for professional careers within the criminal justice system. The degree can also provide a foundation for teaching the subject in high schools and two-year colleges. The program has concentrations in law enforcement, corrections, public administration and forensic science. This degree can be achieved in two years, assuming a student takes a minimum of two courses (six hours) per semester, including the summer session. Full-time students who submit a thesis can also complete the program in two years. To ensure that students graduate in an efficient timeframe, the online program will offer courses based on a prescribed course plan. Professors have online office hours to assist students through phone and email as needed. In addition, the faculty will assist students with potential internships and employment possibilities. The faculty will also support students with their academic progress and help them stay on track for graduation. Students have the following specialty areas to choose from in this degree: Public Administration; Law Enforcement. To enter the program, students must have earned a bachelor’s degree. If a student’s degree is not in criminal justice, then the student may be required to take one to two extra criminal justice courses.
