Wayland Baptist University is private, coeducational Baptist university based in Plainview, Texas, U.S.A. The main goal of the University is to prepare in a Christian environment broadly educated individuals who can move productively into a variety of professions or into further academic pursuits.
The University administers degree programs that are designed to include a combination of educational breadth and specific career or discipline preparation. Near the turn of the millennium, Wayland began offering courses online to supplement the physical campus programs. And starting with the winter of 2006, Wayland began offering graduate degree programs entirely online. Each of the degrees in the Degree Program Online have similar procedures despite being offered in different Academic Schools.
Wayland Baptist University exists to educate students in an academically challenging, learning-focused, and distinctively Christian environment for professional success, lifelong learning, and service to God and humankind. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Our graduates move into a variety of vocational fields. And they also often continue their education through graduate studies.
Wayland offers and accepts many types of Financial Aid including: Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, Perkins Loan, Stafford Loan, Military Tuition Assistance, and V.A. Educational Benefits. Students must be officially admitted into the university and with limited exceptions enrolled as a regular student in an eligible program in order to receive financial aid. That student, who is enrolled for the purpose of obtaining a degree or certificate offered by the university, is a regular student.
