Washington Theological Union is an accredited, Roman Catholic graduate school of theology and ministry educating and forming candidates for the priesthood and other church ministries. It welcomes students who seek to deepen their faith by expanding their theological and spiritual horizons.

Freedom, faith, integrity – is the Union's motto that acknowledges that faith stands at the very heart of the school's mission. Education at the Union leads students to a deeper understanding of Revelation and a greater clarity of Christian wisdom, an understanding and clarity they will need as they minister in the Church of the 21st century.

Washington State Union is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS), the Commission on Higher Education, the District of Columbia Education Licensure Commission.

Academic programs are offered to meet the diverse needs of men and women who wish to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith and tradition and/or acquire ministerial, pastoral and/or catechetical skills. The Union offers two programs online. These are the Doctor of Ministry in Christian Spirituality and Graduate Certificate in Franciscan Theology and Spirituality.

The Union educates candidates for ordination, religious and lay men and women of diverse backgrounds for collaborative ministry in the church and service to the world.
