Online Learning
UM–Dearborn offers online learning for its students. Our faculty and staff provide quality education through delivery methods that can adjust to students’ dynamic lifestyle. By using ever-emerging technologies, our students become members of a learning community comprised of on-campus and distance learning students. Our online learning management system allows students to view recorded classroom lectures, take part in group projects, submit assignments, receive feedback from instructors, and participate in threaded discussions.
To maintain standards of academic excellence, online courses are offered during the same semester as their campus-based counterparts and are taught by the faculty members who instruct the live versions of each course. The convenience of completing a single course or an entire degree program-at home, from the office, or while traveling-by using distance learning technologies, provides unlimited flexibility for students with demanding work or personal schedules.
Online courses are offered via the internet and utilize video with audio, text and graphics. Students learn from instructors who are subject matter experts. They attend class whenever and wherever they want. They interact with their instructors and with fellow students synchronously and asynchronously from personal computers through chat rooms and threaded discussions. Best of all, it will be possible to complete an entire online graduate degree program within two or three years.
