On April 3, 1798, eight men declared their intention to establish the Jefferson Seminary in Louisville and called upon their fellow citizens to join them in pledging funds for land, buildings, and teachers. The University supported public institution for many decades prior to joining the university system in 1970. Nowadays the University of Louisville has become known especially for teaching, research, and service to its community and the advancement of educational opportunity for all citizens thereof. With an enrollment of 21,000, its academic programs attract students from every state and from all over the world. The University has three campuses: Belknap Campus, The Health Sciences Center and Shelby Campus.

To award associate, bachelor, master, specialist, doctoral, and first-professional degrees (D.M.D., J.D., M.D.), the University of Louisville is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Financial Aid

Students will be charged in full for online courses according to the rates below even if taking a full-time course load. Courses offered online are charged separately. Receiving a tuition scholarship, students should check the monetary value to determine whether the cost of online courses is covered. The University of Louisville is devoted to ensuring students are knowledgeable about all of their financial aid options. There also was created a collection of all the information students will need to simplify the financial aid process and make earning a degree affordable for their family.
