The University of Carolina – Irvine is ranked among the top 50 universities nationally, and ranks tenth among all public universities – pretty weighty achievement for our young campus.

UC Irvine Extension serves as the continuing education tool of the University of Carolina – Irvine. It provides a university-level learning experience for our students. We offer lots of courses and programs to local, regional and global constituencies. Professional Certificates are our flagship programs which are delivered in numerous formats for convenience, on campus and online. Most of our students are working adults with college degrees, seeking career advancement and personal growth.

As an integral part of UC Irvine, Extension strives for supporting UCI’s reputation of innovation. Our Distance Learning Center supplies campus and other strategically selected organizations with distance learning services, including the development and delivery of courses using online technology.

As with everything we do, the Distance Learning Center is dedicated to the highest quality instruction, employing professional levels of instructional design, the appropriate use of technology, and the most qualified and best-trained instructors. UC Irvine offers university-quality courses and learning assets to populations of self learners that are underserved and in many cases, unable to participate in formal education at a university. 

UC Irvine Extension courses are available via several delivery formats – on-campus in Irvine, online, and on-site through Corporate Training. Some programs lead to industry certifications, as well as transfer credits toward a master’s degree at our partner universities.
