The University of Bridgeport (UB) is an international, doctoral intensive comprehensive university, with award-winning academic programs. At the University of Bridgeport, students can earn degrees in a variety of innovative undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
Although UB has changed in many ways since 1927, its commitment to student preparation and community service remains central to its mission. The Junior College of Connecticut became the University of Bridgeport in 1947, when the Governor of Connecticut chartered the institution as a four-year university with authority to grant the baccalaureate degree.
The University of Bridgeport is among America's strong international universities with 25 percent of students coming from overseas. The University's commitment to educate students from throughout the world is recognized in the US News and World Report issue on colleges. Online Learning
Committed to creating new learning venues, the University of Bridgeport's School of Continuing and Professional Studies and its Office of Distance Learning pioneered the first online graduate degree program in the State of Connecticut. Accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges (NEASC), UB Online has been offering courses online since 1997. UB Online offers a wide range of programs and courses that allow you to attend class anytime from anywhere. All you need is a computer, access to the Internet, and email, and you can take courses or complete your degree from the comfort of your home or office.

The University of Bridgeport is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The University also is accredited by the Board of Governors of the Connecticut Department of Higher Education.
