The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville offers affordable technical education and college transfer programs that respond to the diverse higher education needs of the citizens of north central Arkansas. The College also provides economic development and an improved quality of life for the community through adult education, developmental education, customized business and industry training, and continuing education programs.
The two-year college is the unique American contribution to higher education, and the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville has played an important part in this movement by providing access to education for the people of north central Arkansas since 1991, when it was reorganized as Gateway Technical College.
UACCB endeavors to provide quality Technical Certificate and Associate of Applied Science degree programs in occupational technical areas, a college parallel transfer curriculum, customized training for business and industry, continuing education programs for life-long learning and personal enrichment, and adult education.
Online Learning
The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville offers quality online learning. The enrollment, financial aid, and registration process for online classes are the same as for campus classes.
To be successful in online classes, a student should:
* Be motivated as an independent learner.
* Not procrastinate.
* Possess the computer skills necessary to use email, upload files, and navigate a website.
* Have reliable access to a computer and internet either at home or on campus.
* Be willing to commit the time necessary to successfully complete an online class. The classes are not easier than campus classes - just offered in a convenient format.
Proctored Exams
Some online instructors require students to take a proctored exam for midterms or finals. These exams will be given on campus. Students who live out of the state should contact the proctor early to make arrangements in their area.
