Founded in 1887 as Troy Normal School, Troy University strives to educate and train new teachers. It is located in Troy, Alabama. Since that time the University evolved into a comprehensive state university.
Troy University is a public institution that is comprised of a network of campuses throughout Alabama and worldwide. The University provides a variety of educational programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels for a diverse student body in traditional, nontraditional and emerging electronic formats.
Troy University's dedicated faculty and staff promote discovery and exploration of knowledge and its application to life-long success through effective teaching, service, creative partnerships, scholarship and research. Academic programs are supported by a variety of student services which promote the welfare of the individual student.
The University welcomes interest from a variety of students including traditional college age students, adults who will combine their educational pursuits with work, or life-long learners who are simply seeking enrichment. It offers programs and courses for full-time and part-time students, and in a variety of formats and times including traditional day classes, night classes, and weekend classes. Programs or classes are also available through distance learning and other alternative methods of educational delivery.
An online education can offer opportunities for students to pursue their educational objectives when attending school in a traditional classroom is not practical. Our eCampus allows students to study when and where it is convenient for him or her. The programs are accredited through the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. eCampus now offers the degree programs and courses online.
