Southwestern College opened its doors for forty-three learners on September 7, 1886. Firstly its name was The Southwest Kansas Conference College and the name The Southwestern College’ was adopted November 5, 1908. Then in 1994 the College began offering degree completion programs for working adults and in 2001 it began moving some of these courses online. Southwestern College has enrolled learners from over 45 states and several countries.

For years, Southwestern College has offered, high-quality, in-demand degrees for traditional students on the main campus. And also Southwestern College understands that not all students are a traditional student right out of high school, and not all students choose to earn their degree in a traditional semester format.

Online degrees programs was created to meet the growing demands and needs of today’s adults. The professional staff and instructors of the College understand multiple obligations of adult students, and are here to assist them each step of their educational journey. Students who have chosen earning an online degree need flexibility to complete their degree. And programs of the Southwestern College were  designed for these people. 

Students of the Southwestern College may choose to complete their courses in six weeks. Besides there are eight, six week sessions each year so all students earn a quality, in-demand degree.
