Since 1911 Southern California University of Health Sciences has been a leader in preparing practitioners and providing care in complementary and alternative medicine. Southern California University of Health Sciences provides an academic environment where excellence is the rule, providing consistent quality in our Doctor of Chiropractic, Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and Professional Studies programs that are rich both in content and context. SCU offers short and long-term courses in many specialty areas. SCU also offers distance learning packages as a component of long-term programs.
Southern California University of Health Sciences incorporates the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, the School of Professional Studies, and the University Health Centers.
SCU is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The Doctor of Chiropractic degree program of SCU is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE). The Doctor of Chiropractic program is also approved by the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
Students at SCU have many financial assistance opportunities available to them in order to cover their educational expenses. It is the policy of the Financial Aid Office to assist our students as much as possible to afford their education. Basically, there are three different types of aid available: federal loans, federal work-study and scholarship.
