The College was founded in 1888 as a California business college and normal institute. Normal institutes trained teachers at the turn of the 20th century. The primary curriculum focus throughout SBBC's long history has been business. In recent years, curriculum offerings have expanded to include programs in Allied Health, Information Technology, Paralegal and Criminal Justice in addition to the traditional Business offerings. Santa Barbara Business College also offers Associate degrees to enrich the learning experience and increase lifelong earning potential.
