San Bernardino Valley College, or SBVC, is a community college located in San Bernardino, California. This two-year college has an enrollment of more than 17,000 students. It was founded in 1926 and is the 25th oldest community college in California.
As part of the state system of community colleges, San Bernardino Valley College is dedicated to providing educational opportunities at minimum cost. It offers numerous academic and vocational programs. Some of the academic units of SBVC are business and information technology division, visual, performing and media arts division, social science and human development division, and humanities division. SBVC provides degrees in the arts and sciences to students who successfully complete a comprehensive two-year curriculum. It also offers more than 40 programs in technical and occupational fields. SBVC has more than 30 clubs and organizations representing a variety of academic and career pursuits. San Bernardino Valley College has been a leader in programs for the physically handicapped, including adaptive physical education classes. School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. San Bernardino Valley College is in the California Collegiate Athletic Association for major sports.
San Bernardino Valley College is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. In addition, the college is accredited by the National League for Nursing and the California State Board of Registered Nursing.
