Northampton Community College is a community college that is one of the largest providers of workforce training, adult literacy programs, and non-credit classes in a four-county region.
The Main Campus, located in Bethlehem Township, was founded in 1967, and enrolls the largest number of students. However, Northampton has made an effort to bring educational opportunities to a larger population of students by opening four off-campus centers. By offering courses in local communities where people live and work, students who would find it difficult to commute to classes at the end of a busy day find it convenient to attend courses offered in their own vicinity.
Many programs include evening and specialized options such as distance learning (study via television or computer at home). You can also attend a wide variety of non-credit classes.
Online Learning
Thanks to Online Learning at Northampton, you can complete online courses that will help you earn several degree programs. Online Learning serves students at any location through access to education consistent with and meeting the standards of excellence for Northampton Community College. It develops, assesses, and supports best practices in faculty teaching in online learning, maintains communication in a mutually supportive relationship with all constituents of the college.
Accreditation
Northampton Community College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Commission on Recognition of Post-secondary Accreditation.
Financial Aid
Keeping quality education affordable and accessible has been a priority at Northampton since it was founded in 1967. The College awards more than $14.5 million in financial aid each year and disburses more scholarship aid than any other community college in Pennsylvania.
