McKendree University was founded by frontier Methodists, making it the first college established in Illinois. The University is committed to providing students with the best education and resources needed to accomplish their goals. It guides students in the pursuit of academic excellence which will prepare them for leadership roles in society. In keeping with the history and traditions, McKendree provides students with a rigorous, broadly based liberal arts curricula joined with specialization in a specific discipline. It helps students develop an appreciation and understanding of human diversity by providing knowledge of and opportunity for experience with multiple ethnicities, cultures, and societies. Classes are taught by professors, not graduate students or teaching assistants. More than 90 percent of all professors have the highest degrees in their fields.

Admissions
To be admitted to the University, first-year students have to submit an official application and submit supporting documents: Official Transcripts, ACT Scores, etc.

Financial Aid
McKendree's Office of Financial Aid provides timely financial assistance while complying with all federal, state, and college policies and regulations. To apply for financial aid at McKendree, students should file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), requesting that the results are sent to McKendree.

Career Services
McKendree's alumni are eligible to use the numerous resources at the Career Center. Among them they are job listings, a resource library and numerous computer programs that are able to do everything from help in determining how to turn strengths and talents into career choices, to helping prepare for the GRE, GMAT or LSAT.
