Lamar University offers more than 150 programs of study that lead to bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. There are more than 100 student clubs, organizations, honor societies, fraternities and sororities from which to choose. AdmissionApplicants for admission to Lamar University are required to meet specific academic requirements. Lamar University, the College of Graduate Studies and the Lamar Institute of Technology each publish their own catalogs and require special application forms. The Office of Admission Services is located in the Wimberly Student Services Building and provides complete admissions counseling for entering students. The Admissions staff is professionally trained to assist prospective students with the assembly of admission credentials and can help with a smooth transition into the college environment. Before registering, one must first apply and be accepted for admission. Returning students, after an absence of one calendar year, must submit an application for readmission.
