The Kentucky Wesleyan College was founded in 1858 when the Kentucky Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, voted to found a college at Millersburg. The college was first a training school for preachers but the curriculum expanded rapidly to include a solid basis of instruction in the liberal arts. When a demand for business classes was identified, they were also added. Kentucky Wesleyan College celebrated its 150th year of existence in 2008.

Kentucky Wesleyan College offers a distinctive college experience and makes a commitment to preparing students for personal and professional success. KWC is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and is proud of the United Methodist heritage. The College is committed to providing its students opportunities for the integration of faith and learning.
