Everett Community College (EvCC) is a community college located in Everett, Washington. It was founded in 1941 and currently enrolls over 8,000 students per quarter. Most students earn their associate degree in arts and sciences after two years of college, and then some transfer to a four-year college to finish their bachelor's degree.
As for the students, they are a variety of ages and come from diverse backgrounds: some are commuters, exchange students, or spouses and parents.
Everett Community College strives to provide quality education in an atmosphere that encourages all students to achieve their educational goals. The College prepares students to be lifelong learners, responsible community members, and citizens of a rapidly changing world. It is possible through effective teaching and supportive student services.
The College provides equal access to educational opportunities for all students; maintains high standards of excellence in instructional programs and student services. It promotes a sense of campus community characterized by mutual support and open communication; encourages diversity, collegiality, and professionalism; collaborates with regional businesses, agencies, schools, and universities to create mutually beneficial partnerships.
A variety of courses are offered outside the traditional classroom setting that may be taken in whole or part at a distance from the college campus. Whether students take one course or three courses a quarter, distance learning may be just what they are looking for.
With distance/eLearning a student can fit college into a busy schedule. This is because it provides flexibility for students who commute, have full-time jobs, a family, or other responsibilities that make taking classes on campus difficult.
