Founded in 1975, Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas is one of the fastest growing small colleges in the U.S. Currently, CCCUA offers program in its three locations in Arkansas: in De Queen, Nashville and Ashdown.
The various delivery formats of the courses include on-campus offerings, as well as weekend, online and satellite transmission options.
Academics
The Division of Distance Education at CCCUA is associated with the Southern Regional Education Board’s Electronic Campus, which provides students with an opportunity to complete online programs to earn a degree.
The College offers the following four Associate level degree options for the students to complete either on-campus or via Internet:
• Associate of Arts
• Associate of General Studies
• Associate of Applied Science - Business Management
• Associate of Applied Science - Medical Assisting
The Associate degrees are used to obtain the required transfer credits for the Bachelor’s degree programs in various fields. Students work closely with the counselor to select the elective courses that will satisfy the transfer requirements of the specific four-year institution of higher education. Moreover, Associate of Applied Science degrees allow students to improve their professionalism and provide them with the new opportunities in the career field. The degree is intended for students who plan to move to the workforce immediately after graduation.
While offering convenient and flexible learning formats, online program also allow students to combine work, family or any other commitments with their education. CCCUA supports its students by offering financial aid to eligible students.
