Chadron State College is located in northwest Nebraska in the scenic Pine Ridge, generally recognized as the most beautiful portion of Nebraska. The main goal of the College is to enrich the quality of life in the region by providing educational opportunities, research, service, and programs that contribute significantly to the vitality and diversity of the region. It is the only four-year and graduate-degree granting college in western Nebraska, and is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, formerly the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and subject-oriented accrediting agencies.
This College offers more than 50 majors leading to bachelor’s degrees and has numerous professional studies options. The academic areas are divided into the School of Arts and Sciences and School Professional and Graduate Studies.
At Chadron State College off-campus and online services are provided as well. About 50 courses are available each semester in Scottsbluff at Western Nebraska Community College or the Panhandle Education Center. Moreover, numerous courses also are offered at Alliance, North Platte, and Sidney.
The Interactive Distance Learning System is one of the most extensive in the nation. It allows both audio and video interaction between the instructor and the students at off-campus sites, and is also used frequently for conferencing by college personnel, businesses, health care providers and government agencies.
Chadron State College offers a large number of courses and workshops each summer. Besides, it has a growing number of on-line courses available throughout the year.
The College allows students to participate in a wide variety of extracurricular activities. There are more than 70 student clubs and organizations on campus. Furthermore, CSC has a rodeo team and an active fine arts program.
A variety of financial aid such as scholarships, grants and loans are offered at College to help students pay for their education.
