Established in 1961 by by the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District, Chabot College has become a a learning-centered institution, a public comprehensive community college aimed at preparing successful professionals in their fields or successful students for further studies.

Chabot College is comprised of the following six college divisions: Applied Technology and Business; Arts and Humanities; Health, Physical Education and Athletics; Language Arts; Science and Mathematics; and Social Sciences.

In addition to numerous online courses and classes offered by the College for students who wish to combine their traditional on-campus study with online learning, there are two programs which are offered completely online. The programs are:
• Certificate of Achievement in Management
• Certificate of Achievement in Marketing

Both program can be pursued either on-campus or online depending on the preference of the students. Online Certificates provide the benefit of a flexible schedule and convenient location of taking the class: students may complete courses from the comfort of their home, office, etc. Moreover, online students will always receive assistance and expert advice in the same manner as on-campus students do.

The College is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Additionally, programs at Chabot College are recognized and approved by a number of accrediting organizations.
