Canisius College was named after a Dutch Jesuit St. Peter Canisius. The College is located in the Delaware Park district of north-central Buffalo, New York. Today Canisius College is one of 28 member institutions of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities.
Academics

While on-campus traditionally delivered programs at Canisius College include numerous undergraduate and graduate degrees, pre-professional and special programs, certificates and courses, there also several offerings of online programs.
Students can complete the Master’s degree in Physical Education entirely online. There is no residency requirement and students don’t have to travel to Canisius College campus for any reason. Such flexibility offers students with initial teaching certification in physical education an opportunity to meet requirements for professional certification in physical education.
Additionally, there is a workshop/online class for human resources professionals who seek certification as a Professional in Human Resource (PHR®) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®). Throughout the program, students enrolled in this course will develop specific competencies and decision-making skill, and learn to apply new-found skills in business environment. The program consists of six learning modules, which cover the following topics: Strategic Management, Workforce Planning and Employment, Human Resource Development, Total Rewards, Employee and Labor Relations and Risk Management.
