A young, vibrant university, California State University, San Bernardino is one of the fastest growing universities in California. Founded in 1965, CSUSB currently enrolls more than 17,000 students and employs more than 2,100 faculty and staff.
Academics
More than 70 programs and certificates offered by the university are organized into five academic colleges: Arts and Letters, Business and Public Administration, Education, Extended Learning, Natural Sciences, and Social and Behavioral Sciences. Many programs are nationally accredited. To them belongs Business program, which was the first in the Inland Empire to gain national accreditation at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Other highly respected programs include Computer Science & Engineering, geographic information and decision sciences, health, public administration, and accounting and finance, and many others.
The university is considered to be one of the region's largest teacher-training institutions. Up to 95 percent of the College of Education's graduates with teaching credentials are in full-time employment a year after graduation. CSUSB science students are readily accepted into the most prestigious medical schools in the country.
Providing access to University degrees, certificate programs, professional development and personal enrichment programs, the College of Extended Learning (CEL) helps students achieve their continuing education goals. Classes are offered at the San Bernardino campus and online. The online continuing education programs and courses provide students with the workforce skills necessary to acquire positions in many in-demand occupations. Such programs are offered in partnership with Gatlin Education Services.

California State University, San Bernardino is accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The College of Education is accredicated by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC).
