Located in Back Hills of western South Dakota, Black Hills State University offers plenty of opportunities to its students. Academic programs available include about 80 bachelor’s majors and minors, three master’s degrees and a number of associate degrees and pre-professional programs and certificates.

Academics
Black Hills State University is currently an institution of higher education comprised of 123 acres of land in the neighborhood of the city of Spearfish, South Dakota. The academic buildings of the University include twenty-six buildings, situated in a North South orientation. Students are taught by more than 100 experienced faculty members. Academically, BHSU is divided in three colleges — Arts & Sciences, Business & Technology, and Education. Distance education offerings are developed each year, to reach more of the place-bound South Dakota residents. Innovation are research are also emphasized in the University and together with the quality education form the top priority questions dealt with in the in Black Hills State University.
