Belhaven University ("Belhaven" or "BC") is a private Christian liberal arts college located in Jackson, Mississippi State. Established by the now defunct Presbyterian Church in the United States, the school is independently run by a Board of Trustees.

A community of professors and students working together in a Christian environment, Belhaven emphasizes the importance of the individual. In addition to a strong traditional liberal arts program, Belhaven provides an atmosphere in which students can find purpose and meaning in life. Academic preparation and Christian experience go hand in hand at Belhaven. Every student is encouraged to develop and grow to the best of his or her potential and to face the future with confidence and determination. Interwoven into academic preparation is a curriculum that emphasizes personal values and constructive attitudes toward work, other people, and the quality of life.

The College offers 27 undergraduate majors and a 12:1 student to faculty ratio for the traditional undergraduate program and also provides a close-knit learning community where students see the college’s vision and mission lived out in the lives of faculty members. For non-traditional, working adults, BC offers adult and graduate degree programs in Jackson, as well as in Atlanta, Chattanooga, Houston, Orlando, and Memphis. Accredited online degree programs are also available for students who desire distance learning with a Christian curriculum.

The sports teams for men and women in College are known as the Blazers and Lady Blazers respectively. The official mascot is the Blazer. Men from Belhaven College participate in intercollegiate cross country, basketball, golf, football, baseball, tennis, and soccer. Women from the college participate in intercollegiate volleyball, softball, tennis, cross country, basketball, and soccer. The cheerleading squad, known as the Belhaven Blazer Cheerleaders, accompanies the teams to various championships in order to act as college ambassadors as well as to inspire the teams.
