APSU is a public university located on an urban campus that for over 180 years has been used for educational purposes and on which the buildings of five colleges have stood. University is named after former Tennessee Governor Austin Peay, a Clarksville native. Austin Peay is a four-year public, masters level university offering over 56 majors and 63 different specializations.
Austin Peay State University grants the degrees of Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Arts, Master of Music, Master of Science, Education Specialist and Master of Arts in Education.
Campus Life APSU experience is just as much about experiences outside of the classroom as it is in. The University offers a wide range of activities to suit all tastes of each student. From organizations to athletics, academic and cultural events; students, faculty and staff have all sorts of options for activities both day and night. The University is well known for its arts heritage, from award-winning publications and art exhibitions to nationally-recognized concert hall.
Financial AidThe purpose of Financial Aid Office is to enhance the growth, development and performance of all qualified students by providing financial resources and information that will enable students to maximize their educational experience. Financial aid is available in the form of scholarships, grants, loans and work-study. Federal government, State of Tennessee, lending institutions, private agencies and postsecondary institutions may offer financial aid assistance. Almost all federal and state-funded financial aid programs are awarded on the basis of proven financial need. The student must reply each academic year for financial aid.
