Founded in July 2001 by the combination of the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) and United States International University (USIU), Alliant International University is now a nonprofit institution of higher education headquartered in California. At Alliant International University the focus is directed towards preparation of students for professional careers in the applied social sciences.
Academics
Alliant International University is made of three major schools, which offer its programs in all the six campuses of the university. The three schools are:
• the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP)
• the Graduate School of Education (GSOE)
• the Marshall Goldsmith School of Management (MGSM)
The latter school has three divisions, namely Division of Business and Management, Division of Organizational Psychology, and Division of International Studies. Moreover, Allinat University has the Center for Forensic Studies (CFS).
Six California campuses of the Alliant International University are the following San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Fresno, Irvine, and Sacramento. In addition, there is a campus in Mexico City, which is distinguished by being the only university in Mexico authorized by law to offer all of its programs in English, and the only one whose programs are all accredited by an American accrediting agency.
Alliant offers programs to graduate and undergraduate students in a variety of fields including, but not limited to Business, Communication, Clinical Psychology, Educational Leadership, International Business, Liberal Studies, Organizational Behavior, International Relations, Teaching & Credentials, and more.
To the Alliant international programs belong its programs in Psychology offered in Tokyo and Japan and a unique online Psychopharmacology program. All the programs, which allow students to obtain an online degree completely through the Internet include MA in Education: Teaching Emphasis, BS in Business Administration, Online Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology.
Online learning opportunities also exist for working psychologists and health service providers through Continuing Education at Alliant, which is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), and the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
Alliant International University is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), an institutional accrediting body recognized by the US Department of Education. Moreover, different programs are separately accredited by the authorized commissions and boards.
