| There are about 1700 nurse training programs accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. This is a specialized accrediting agency, focusing on providing the health care industry with well trained nurses. NLNAC oversees programs offering practical nursing diplomas, associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and PhDs in nursing. The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as the national accrediting body for all types of nursing education programs. The commission is interested in providing a non-biased, mentoring role to schools of nursing throughout the United States. NLNAC accredits programs that have met or exceeded the standards it has set forth. Continuing education is also a big part of the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission's mission. It is proud to be a part of nearly 200 programs offering professional development courses. Along with accreditation, the NLNAC stays on top of the new policies and regulations and makes sure nursing programs are meeting these guidelines. |
