| The Council for Higher Education Accreditation recognizes the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs as a respected agency for overseeing the educational quality of master's degree programs in ten fields of counseling. Since 1993, the council has been working toward pushing the educational process through a process of evolution, thereby improving the way counselors are prepared. The vision of the Council of Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs is to provide the leader ship needed to bring counseling education to a level beyond were it lies now. This not only includes the training of new professionals in the field, but also the continuing education of experience professionals. CACREP aims to develop the highest standards in program educational standards, so its accredited programs is an assurance to employers that graduates are well prepared with the right tools. A core belief of the commission is that quality education is the most direct way to advance the counseling profession to better meet people's needs. For over 20 years, CACREP has been successful working toward their goals of excellence. |
