Study Spanish
Whether you are studying independently or are taking a formal class, whether your interest is casual or you are absolutely determined to become fluent, this website has much to offer.

Core curriculum can be found in these four sections:
1. [Pronunciation]
2. [Grammar]
3. [Vocabulary]
4. [Verb Drills]

These four areas represent hundreds of lessons and practice activities, and a common question is, "Where do I begin?" If you are taking a class, your teacher may assign lessons, or you might simply come to this website for alternate presentations and extra practice. If you are studying independently, we have compiled a to help guide you.

We also offer each student a personal [Virtual Report Card]. This free service will allow you to keep track of your progress by recording scores for future reference. This is also the method by which your teacher (if you have one) can monitor your progress (if you consent).

In addition to the written lessons, there are four primary types of activities:

1. Quizzes
2. Tests
3. Final Exams
4. Oral Exercises

Quizzes are designed to help you learn the material that is presented in the lesson. When you submit a quiz, the computer will report back if you answered any questions incorrectly. You must then go back and correct the answers that you got wrong. Only after you have answered all questions correctly can your grade be recorded.

Tests are also designed to help you learn, but in a slightly different way. With tests, you are not given a second chance; your score is immediately recorded. You can see what questions you missed by clicking on the percentage score in your Virtual Report Card™. To improve your grade, you can re-take a test at any time. Your last score will always be recorded, regardless of whether it is higher or lower than your previous attempt.

Final exams are designed to gauge your progress. Final exam grades are only recorded to your report card once - you do not get a second chance. You are, however, notified of your score before you record your grade. If you are not satisfied with your score, you can simply choose not to record the grade. Once you choose to record a grade for a final exam, it is permanent. You cannot change it. Final exams are a [Premium Service] and require [Premium Membership].

The oral exercises are designed to give you lots of practice hearing and speaking Spanish. Most of the audio on this website is presented by two speakers: the male voice of Juan from Peru and the female voice of Monica from Spain. All audio requires that you have the free [Shockwave] player.
